1ST SIRAP & APSCVIR JOINT WEB SEMINAR 2020
The year 2020 was unprecedented in the history of APSCVIR, with the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the world. With global travel curtailed, outreach programmes the way we knew it were not possible to organise.
APSCVIR was invited by the Japanese Society of Interventional Radiology to co-organise the 1st virtual SIRAP (Seminars in Interventional Radiology Asia Pacific) meeting.
This was held on 13 December 2020 and the theme was Non-vascular Interventional Radiology. The programme was as shown below.
The virtual programme ran smoothly, thanks to the wonderful support from JSIR. More than 100 young radiologists from the Asia Pacific region attended the meeting, a larger number compared to the usual SIRAP physical meetings. Of note too, was the APSCVIR corporate member lecture slot, a platform for APSCVIR to continue engagement with our corporate members. This time, Canon Medical was invited to provide a talk.
We would like to put on record our appreciation to JSIR for this opportunity to collaborate, and all the faculty members. APSCVIR looks forward to further collaborations with JSIR for future SIRAP meetings, whether virtual or in person.
